When my daughter was 10 she wanted to play flag football. She was the only girl. The boys would not pass her the ball.
When my daughter was 12 she wanted to play waterpolo. There was not a girl team so she had to play with the boys. There were 2 girls on the team. They were bigger than the boys at that age so they took full advantage of their strength 💪🏼 on defense but the boys would not pass them the ball to score even when they were clear and in perfect position. By age 14 males & females are split up in waterpolo. That’s a good thing for many reasons but I’m so proud of her perseverance in her younger days. She is now a freshman in college near Pearl Harbor on Oahu studying Nursing. She got into a very competitive 4 year full B.S. nursing program. We are so proud of her. She has recently decided she wants to serve in the Navy. She is applying for a huge nursing scholarship program. We had no idea this path would unfold this way. The Mercy is a giant hospital ship. She recently took a tour and is so excited at the thought of being MAYBE stationed on this vessel to serve on humanitarian assignments across the globe some day. We are so very proud of her, it brings tears to my eyes. What a strong, intelligent, generous soul she is ❤️ Do you think there is a new parent orientation? 😂kidding😢 my baby girl…you never know where their journey will take them.
